Teamcenter is a worldwide leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system developed by Siemens PLM Software Inc. (USA). Teamcenter stores and administrates all relevant data about a product which arise during the entire product life cycle. Employees within the company can access this information across different departments and locations and then work on them in a global team. Furthermore, partners and suppliers can participate. As a co-operation platform Teamcenter controls the processes of teamwork and the rights of individual participants.
Teamcenter combines product-, process-, production- and service-knowledge into just one comprehensive PLM environment. Geometry and engineering data from different CAD-, CAM- and CAE-systems can be recorded, managed and used. Teamcenter is able to administrate parts lists and therefore allows the demand-orientated provision of product definitions. Moreover, physical products and prototypes can be documented in Teamcenter according to legal regulations. Extensive configuration, connection and adjusting services allow for a quick and easy adjustment of Teamcenter to specific requirements of a company. Teamcenter can be seamlessly implemented into other applications and therefore allows for company wide business processes.
